It’s Patio Season at L’Academie! Dine Al Fresco in Montreal
Montreal’s open-air dining season is all too short but make no mistake, as soon as our six-month-long love/hate relationship with the Quebec winter starts to wind down, cafes and restaurants across the city begin opening up their patio and terraces to hungry patrons.
At L’Academie, we open our stylish patio as soon as Mother Nature says it’s OK, giving our customers a chance to dine “al fresco” enjoying our table d’hote or from our menu, dishes such as our vast selection of Mussels and fries, our gourmet Chicken dishes, or try our selection of desserts, and sip a coffee and people watch from the comfort of our patios….
L’Academie offers an alternative to interior dining, and the moment is accentuated beautifully by adding in a tasty light meal on your lunch break or after work with friends.
These are our keys to doing it right:
Al Fresco: open-air dining
The term “al fresco” is Italian for “in the cool”. A better translation might be “al’aperto” or “in the open”. Since we don’t get too many warm weeks in the city, it’s important to make the most of them while they’re here.
There’s nothing like grabbing a bite to eat or a cool drink in the shades of the hot sun. Locals and tourists alike enjoy the opportunity to take in the fresh air and ambiance of L’Academie.
The early Spring weeks are the best time to enjoy a meal outside.
L’Academie: something for everyone!
Dining on our terrace is a great way to enjoy the city, but doing it right means pairing it with the right drink –bring your own wine or beer and enjoy the great meals available at L’Academie. It depends on the time of day, what you’ve got planned after, and your taste buds. Don’t worry, though, we’ve got something for everyone:
- Lunch break – the only thing people tend to agree on when it comes to lunch breaks is that they’re too short! On a quick break and need something to tide you over? Try our Caesar salad, mussels marinara, or fried calamari. If you have a little extra time, our lunch specials are affordable and delicious. Our famous pasta dishes are all 12,95 every day at lunch!

L’Academie allows you to bring your own wine and beer to enjoy on our beautiful appointed patios. Pair it with some of our delicious seafood or order a table full of starters to share with everyone while you gripe about the day’s challenges.
- Great for tourists, too! – with 7 locations well situated in Montreal – St. Denis and Crescent streets, Laval, Brossard, Pointe-Claire, Anjou and Gatineau, we are sure we can accommodate your taste buds with our well-prepared meals. Enjoy our virgin cocktails, famous Italian food, or gourmet poutines. Wash it down with a coffee to help keep you going for the day. We’ve even got a menu for the kids!
